Sabbath School

Sabbath School is a special time for members, visitors and friends to study the Word of God. Each week, ideas, experiences and perspectives are shared in Sabbath School classes across Texas and around the world.

Sabbath School has been an essential part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church since its introduction in Rochester, New York, in 1853. It grew so rapidly that by the 1930s, approximately 85 percent of the church membership accepted the Advent message through the Sabbath School department.

The Sabbath School quarterly provides foundational material for weekly study, addressing important biblical themes. Topics change four times a year and are divided into 13-week blocks. Different age groups, including youth and children, also have themed lessons.

These studies can be found at SSNet.org and SabbathSchoolU.org for collegiate and young adults. Discussions are available online, and recordings can be found at HopeSS.HopeTV.org.
